Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups Warm water
  • 0.25 cups Sugar
  • 3 teaspoons Instant yeast
  • 0.25 cups Vegetable oil (or olive oil)
  • 6 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Salt

Instructions

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Let the mixture sit until frothy, about 5-10 minutes.
  • Once frothy, add the vegetable oil to the yeast mixture.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the flour and salt together.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the yeast mixture, mixing well after each addition. Continue until the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl but remains slightly sticky.
  • Grease a large bowl. Transfer the dough into it and coat lightly with oil. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  • Once doubled, turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Shape it into a smooth ball and divide into 3 equal portions.
  • Roll out each portion into desired pizza shape or refrigerate for later use.
  • Preheat your pizza stone in the oven at a high temperature, between 475ºF and 500ºF, for at least 30 minutes. Add your favorite toppings to the rolled-out pizza and bake until the crust is golden, about 8-10 minutes.

Notes

  • Consider mixing in herbs or garlic powder into the dough for added flavor.
  • When letting the dough rise, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap to prevent hardening.
