Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Heavy whipping cream
  • 8 ounces Mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • ⅓ cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups Cold espresso, prepared
  • 3 tablespoons Coffee flavored liqueur, optional
  • 1 package Lady Fingers, Savoiardi brand
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream on medium speed. Gradually add sugar and vanilla, continuing until stiff peaks form.
  • Fold in the mascarpone cheese until well combined. Set aside.
  • In a shallow bowl, combine the cold espresso and coffee liqueur (if using). Quickly dip each lady finger in the coffee for a few seconds without soaking, then lay them in a single layer at the bottom of an 8x8-inch dish.
  • Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of lady fingers, ensuring even coverage.
  • Add another layer of dipped lady fingers, followed by the remaining mascarpone cream, spreading it evenly across the top.
  • Generously dust cocoa powder over the top, covering the entire surface.
  • Refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours or up to overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.

Notes

  • For best results, let the mascarpone come to room temperature before mixing.
  • Dip lady fingers quickly to retain their structure.
  • Allow chilling for enhanced flavors.
