Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Unsalted Butter, softened to room temperature
  • 4.5-5 cups Powdered Sugar, sifted Avoid lumps for a smooth consistency.
  • 0.25 teaspoon Fine Salt
  • 4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 3-4 tablespoon Heavy Cream or Whole Milk

Instructions

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat the butter on high speed for about 5 minutes until it becomes light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl occasionally.
  • Sift the powdered sugar. Lower the mixer to medium-low speed and add the powdered sugar one heaping tablespoon at a time. Continue mixing until fully incorporated.
  • Add the fine salt and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
  • Add heavy cream or milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the frosting reaches the desired consistency. Beat for another minute.

Notes

  • Make sure the butter is soft but not too warm to prevent a greasy feel.
  • Sift your sugar to avoid lumps.
  • Adjust cream or milk quantity based on your desired consistency.
  • Chill if necessary to firm up the frosting.
